Karon beach has a beautiful stretch of long white sand and is a quiet and tranquil resort. There are many fine restaurants offering all types of cuisine and also a large number of street vendors selling a wide variety of goods.
A number of world class hotels can be found in Karon along with some small boutique style shops and emporiums.
Of note is a small back street just off the beach road which is home to a small art community and is an excellent place to purchase local Thai artwork.
